    Hptm.Kleinert

Just got this great Service Document to a Hauptmann Herbert Kleinert , born 18 Sept.1929, who served in the brand new DDR Army from 25-10-1948 to 31-1-1960 . The document is also his retirement paper and signed by DDR-ARMEEGENERAL Stoph (?) . Posted by Bernd . Also show in the photo are 2 pin-on tinies of the DDR. The one for Vietnam is interesting.

Doug and Olivier..Thanks alot for posting your early NVA leaving Certificates What I find most interesting is that the person started his service in 1948!! One of the very first DDR Soldiers.

Doug, could you please check and tell if the Stoph Signature is real or faksimilie? from the Photos,it looks like the typical Ink colour used for Faksimlies. Also what Size is the Folder?

                  Here is another Example...
From 1958 and slightly different in Appearance. It has the served years instead of the dates from-to.
I believe the Stoph Signature on this one is real,as the colour and handwriting is slightly different to Dougs. Also Stoph has signed as Generaloberst.

Does anyone have a Stoph Faksimilie to compare it with Dougs and mine,to see the difference in the Style of the handwriting?
                  Regards
                  Andreas

The size of the folder closed is 6 by 8 1/2 -inches . Both signatures are very close in their slant , etc. of letters and loops ;--and the ink seems to be the same lite-blue . Hptm. Kleinert must have joined-up at the very start of the DDR-Volksarmee . He might have had some training as a Flakhelfer or being in the Volkssturm at the end of WWII .

Hello all - From what I can see of the posted signatures, both are hand written. I am posting an award document from one of my groupings with a stamped signature.

Somebody, after all, had to make a start. What we wrote and said is also believed by many others. They just don't dare express themselves as we did. Quote - Sophie Scholl - White Rose resistance group
