    para beret 1968

    Another great find I was lucky to get : this orange EM / NCO parade / ausgang beret dated 1968 !!! This early type does not have the lace !

          What is the color of the thread that was used to attach the DDR symbol to the beret?

                  Olivier - Thanks for the follow up. I wanted to ask because I have seen some with orange threads being used. I don't own one, but when you posted your beret on the DDR forum, I thought it would be a interesting to ask the question.

                    The other stitching on the berret is orange for sure... but the insignia stitching is defenitely black thread ! From what I remember, the officer insignia is stitched with orange thread.

                      The berets I have seen in the past had both patches sewn with orange thread.
