I am sure that someone out there will know the answer straight away.... but for me, could you show a close up of the markings? Cheers, Torsten.

I don't own these items Torsten, but an army shop sell them, and these pics are from Ebay. One of the sellers said it's west germany, and the other said perhaps west, perhaps east.

I don't remember exactly the markings into them, but I know there are several letters followed by Berlin 58, Berlin 61... surrely the year?

not sure what they are, but I think they might be west german...? The number after Berlin could also be the postcode number of the maker...they were written like that in the past...but it might also be the year of manufacture?? Cheers, Torsten.

Yeah most probably west german, east germany used to stamp everything, and early DDR items, when NVA wasn't created had very typical markings.. Thanks for your help Torsten, I'm a newbie

These are definitely West German magazine pouches for the G1/FAL. There seems to be a wide variety of maker stamps for the pouches. I have seen photos of the BGS using the pouches but the Bundeswehr may have also used them. I have photos of the Bundeswehr with the FAL but not with the pouches. Here are a couple different stamps. I believe the numbers are dates.

Here is a photo of the pouches in use. I believe The NCO in the foreground is carrying the Baretta Model 4 SMG or another variation of the WWII era Baretta SMG which was used by the BGS until the early 1960s.

                Tribley,

Great BGS picture. Hard to see the pouches though. At least on my computer. Here is a photo of them in wear by the Bundesheer.
I wasn't aware of the use of the Italian Berretta smg by the BGS in their early years. Nice info.

                Regards,

                  Tribley,

Looks as though you are correct about the Barretta M4, not that there was any doubt!!!!! Here is a picture of an M4.

                  Cheers,
