Hello,

i pulled today my NVA Generals tunic out. It is in my possesion since April/May 1990. The boards were replaced by me- it was once a one star general. But i have the original boards in my collection.

Is there a flap (inside) on reverse of the academy badge to protect the clothes from the screw ?

Hello,

yes, you're right- the protection flap is there and the academy badge is a screwback version and the whole is sewn carefully around similar to wehrmacht tunics with screwback awards.

I have a Colonel's GT tunic from the early 1980s that has this protection flap inside the tunic and a meatl eyelet on the front... makes it a very special one !

Very nice early Generals Gesellschaft tunic. Rare to see them with the thread loops for the medal bar. Thanks for showing it.
