    BE CAREFULL with ebay mails

Stupid me.I've received a mail from a country with an English language.
It was just like a mail from Ebay.It told that I didn't pay an item I bought on Ebay.It was something from about $8000
To see what item it was I had to sign in with my name and secret code.
Offcourse nothing was shown, page was out off order.
I don't know what they could with it,but I changed my name and code very quick after it.
My English isn't that good,I hope everyone understands it.

Somebody, after all, had to make a start. What we wrote and said is also believed by many others. They just don't dare express themselves as we did. Quote - Sophie Scholl - White Rose resistance group

believe it or not, but I do get a minimum of ten such emails every day...probably due to my rather high ebay activity level...most of the time, I can recognise them now without even having to open them...however, my ebay account was hi-jacked once and I have no idea how they did...someone changed my password and I could no longer log in, but I received lots of emails from people who had been offered high end cars for sale through my account...it was very strange...I had to re-set my account with ebay and now everything is fine again...but you must be very careful with these emails...even if you are not selling on ebay and you do not have your credit card placed on ebay, there are all kinds of things that these stupid people get up to once they have your account details...Cheers, Torsten.

You have to be carefull with those emails. I got one a year ago and started to give them the information they wanted. I got a little curious when they wanted bank account numbers and routing numbers, pin numbers and credit card numbers. After I closed the email I changed all of my passwords to ebay, paypal and my credit cards. I do not answer them anymore. They are not sent by ebay. They are sent by people that are trying to get your ID name. With that they have access to your profile which has credit card and bank account information along with addresses and even paypal information if you use it. They could steal your identity and cause serious trouble for you later. There is some good information about these spoof email on the ebay site with instructions about what you should do. I think ebay now uses their message center email site for all their senitive emails. There are also paypal spoof emails also. I would be very carefull with these emails. If you go to these sites they will tell you how to identify these type of emails.

          Gents,

All of us who deal with eBay will get these emails eventually. I also had my account highjacked about a year ago and it was Ebay that advised me of the problem. I had been using rather simple passwords but Ichanged all my passwords to safer ones when I reregistered with eBay.

It is simple to check if the email is actually from eBay. They will use your eBay bidding name and the full name you are registered under. Also, when you log onto eBay you will see at the top of the screen that you have email in your account. If the email was actually sent from eBay it will appear here.

          Regards,

          Gordon

I got one supposed to be from Pay pall asking me to reenter my details to renew my pay pall membership. It could have fooled someone who had used Pay pall before!

I have heard of this too with bank accounts.... you get a mail with your bank's logo saying they need you to update your bank references and so on... then you have to click onto a link button and you are redirected to the home page that is exactly the same as that of your bank... and this this where all the trouble starts because some can really get conned...

Another story is mails I got from Africa or Asia saying Mister so and so is an advocate contacting me because I have inherited from a HUGE sumn of money... worth millions of $.... but before I can get it, I have to pay a local tax fee to have the money released... just a few thousand $ !!
I have never answered these crap mails... until one day I decided to have fun with them...
I wrote the guy back saying I wanted to know more about it. Then I said I was okay, but before I could send a penny to him, he had to pay my bank a transaction fee which would make it possible for me to pay his fees...
              get it ??
              and guess what .... ?
              they never wrote back
              LOL
