It looks like a complete an utter 'fake' to me, so I don't think fellow members of the forum should bother to bid on it.....ever... at all....never.....
I may bid a little on it for the benefit of other forum members so we can have good quality picture reference of this terrible item.....

Who's buying the picture of the flag?

I don´t think what the flag is a fake, because a friend of mine (a big collector of DDR banners and flags) bought a few original 1950/60s flags from this dealer.

The flag is on ebay.de, the photo on ebay.com - so it´s only an old trick to promote the auction on bouth ebays! But it´s intersting that somebody bids on a photo...

            Now I've seen everything.

The Seller is also auctioning off an example of the ebay photo used to exemplify the flag that is for auction.

This is true "Capitalism" if I've ever seen it.

Oh, and good luck David and Richard.

I guess this is to list the flag in english also. A small tactic to have publicity for his flag auction.

...about the eBay Vopo School flag

The subject Vopo School flag is listed showing a pole top without the green base or the green dated streamer and cord/tassels, which does give the impression that the flag has been mounted on the pole at a later time, and thus making the pole not original to the flag.

Hi,please note: You are bidding on photo of a flag, not on the flag!!! The flag is offered on ebay.de (ebay Germany).

                  Greetings, Germany History

You didn't get conned, you should just have read more carefully.
I'm sure the seller is reasonable and will let you off the hook. Don't worry.

Otherwise you can just hope someone else does the same mistake so you don't have to be the highest bidder.

very clever... even I have not thought of doing this photo thing to promote my items more widely... Cheers, Torsten.

If somebody makes a mistake: cancel the bid.
                        BTW.
The flag is state property, and it's a crime to sell stolen things.
I don't think that the seller has a certificate of puchase from the Ministry of the interiour, who is the legal owner of the flag, for the item.

The MdI doesn't exist anymore and therefore it's legal.
I a private person dies then the relatives will have the rights to anything that person created. An organisation however is completley different thing. When an organisation seize to exist noone has any right to the material cretaed vy that organisation.
