This BGS Tunic is, in my opinion, somewhat overpriced (89 USD) but Siegmund tends to do this with many of the things he sells since he is selling to the collector's market.
The reason it is priced high is that most BGS Uniforms were stripped of insignia before they were released for sale to the public, due to West German laws, and issued early uniforms (with the dark collar) are normally very difficult to find with their original insignia complete. You can usually only tell if the original insignia is on by seeing it in person. The tunic is also priced for collectors while most other sites will price BGS tunics low since very few people are interested in them.
I personally think that this was a tunic manufactured shortly before the BGS changed to the newer green uniforms. The tunic in the photo does not have hand embroidered arm insignia common to the earlier officer's tunics and it looks like it may have a manufacturer's tag, showing that it was never issued. Both issues lower the value of this tunic, significantly in my opinion, and alot of the BGS stuff on the site has never been issued or items never used by the BGS as they constantly changed uniform regulations. His BGS stuff is really a mine field. I would class it like a 1989-1990 East German uniform that was never issued.
I would also search around some more. If you really want the tunic ask Siegmund if the tunic was previously issued. He doesn't read English too well so if you know German, it is better.
