Hey Bob...Can I come over and trade a six pack of beer for your KMO or at least hold it...

Your medal and document are outstanding pieces to have in your collection..congrats!!!

Quick question about your document...Are the signatures original or stamped? And is the recipent's name written or typed?

            Superb Bob.

Congratulations on an outstanding acquisition. Getting it with the Urkunde is TOPS. !!!

Well done, and thank you for sharing it with us.

Thanks guys. I was more excited to acquire this piece than I was when I acquired my Order of Lenin and other medals documented to a Major in the second world war.

Ralph - for a mere glass of Johnny Walker Blue I'd let you hold whatever you desired in my meager collection. You, Mike G. and I suspect Tortseten (with his very cool Prussian helmet collection) have set the standard for Prussian to DDR collectables. (Not to dismiss lightly the very valuable collections and input of other members of the forum. You guys rock, too! )

I feel fortunate to be associated with the gentlemen of this and other forums who display such knowledge and deep conviction about this history and conversely about the welfare of their fellow man. (May sound corny, but truth is when duty called on both sides of 'die Mauer' - you all answered!)
              Peace!

Oops- forgot to answer Ralph's important question- the signatures appear to be handwritten. I have two documented VVOs that I'll post later. It appears Stoph's signature is real. I am theorizing that he hand signed several different levels of documentation. I would like to post these later; if for no reaon than to settle, in my mind at least, that some of the Urkuende I have may not be real. (The docs did not come from the guy I most often deal with and trust.)

Hey Bob...Thanks for the update - very good find to have handwritten signatures on one document like yours.

It will be interesting to read - discuss in the future your theory of Stroph's levels of documentation.
