Distance between pips

    Frank,

    I would think it would be the same set up as is for the rank of Captain. I would think it would be three pips at the bottom like a triangle, followed by the band Lyre insignia or Medical insignia, followed by the fourth pip at the top close to the button.

    But this is a presumption, as I have no photographic evidence nor regulation by which to base this.

      Here is the rank plate I mentioned before, the pip for Generalmajor is right in the center.
      Sorry I don't know which book it's from.
      So did it apply only to Police? or is it simply wrong?

        I think there are quite a lot of variances between regulations for the Polizei and that for the NVA. I wouldn't try to compare the two, because in many cases, it is comparing apples to oranges.

        For the NVA, I would stick to NVA example Rank Plates. They show the pip for Generalmajor being placed closer toward the end of the shoulderboard.
