Somebody, after all, had to make a start. What we wrote and said is also believed by many others. They just don't dare express themselves as we did. Quote - Sophie Scholl - White Rose resistance group

        Nice Olivier.

a). Pictures of the presentation of the first Regimental NVA Flag being presented to des 1 mech. Regiments der NVA, April 30th, 1956.

b). Pictures of very 1st NVA May Day Parade, May 1, 1956. One thing of interest was that none of the marching ground forces wore the M-56. But I noted the troops that paraded in the Armored Trucks did.

Note: I've seen 1957 dated Stahlhelms, but have never come across one dated 1956. Anyone out there have one with a 1956 date?

this is Rosa Thälmann, the wife of the german workring-class leader and KPD-chairman (during the 20ies, 30ies till they killed him in 1944) Ernst Thälmann.

I have just realised the way parades are numbered is not really correct : the 1989 Ehrenparade, the last one, is often presented as the 40th parade, counting from 1949, the year the DDR was created... in fact, it should be called the 33th one !

Hi, I had not noticed it being called the 40th Parade anywhere... but it is Die Ehrenparade der NVA zum 40. Jahrestag der DDR...where did you see it being numbered as the 40th parade? Cheers, Torsten.
