    Nice items!

As the soldier's uniform is for parade purposes (hence the 'Ärmelpatten'), it would need a black leather belt, which are quite common and will cost you around 10-12,50 euros.
Furthermore, I think, as it's 'soldat' ranked, it doesn't need any more medals, awards etc.

Nice officers tunic you got there! You could put embroided collar tabs (textile) on it, and make it a stabsdienst tunic, or a dienst tunic (with brown leather belt). Ribbon bar would be nice too

    Anyway; nice first items!!

I just recive them so if you have advice about how to "pimp" them in the future with nice badges and belts
I too was once like you, a collector only of combat uniforms and field equipment; but then I bought a soldat's tunic, thinking that that would be the extent of my deviation into non-combat uniform collecting . . . two years later I'm trying to make space in my closet, selling other items to generate funds for new purchases, and spending inordinate hours shopping online. For me, that soldat's tunic was like a virus, infecting me with it's sweet sickness

        Congratulations on your purchases!

          Genossen,

This is my first dark collar, with accessories. What do you think?

Please be very honest! Does everything match up? Allgemeine-Spange Stufe III... is that too low for a Lt-Col?

And please... what is the all-red ribbon? I've been able to work out the others, but the all-red one is still a mystery.

Funny, the awards over the right-hand breast pocket look crooked, but when I look at the tunic they are straight! Odd.

Vielleicht bin ich besoffen! Habe wohl einen über den Durst getrunken!

If you are a German speaking Genosse keep an eye out for Blaulicht episodes. They're trashy/cult DDR crime short stories.

Very, very nice tunic! What do the stamps say?

Don't know whether the Quali fits, but you have to put SOME quali there, as otherwise you'll see two holes ^^

Jenosse - Thanks for taking the time to show us your latest tunic and badges and ribbons on it. Something you should consider is that the Banner of labor ribbon you are showing on the tunic was established in 1974, since it has level III on it. If it was the earlier ribbon then the ribbon bar would not be questioned. This ribbon bar may not be questioned if it was on a open collar tunic. So not to say that the officer did not wear this tunic through the mid 1970s, however my question back to you...is there any stamped markings on the inside of the tunic?

I like the collar tabs that look like to be the pre 1965 flat type !!!
                  Are they machine stitched ?
From what I can see from the size tag in the collar, your tunic is most likely to ba dated after 1970 ; probably 1971 (X) 1972 (B) or 1973 (L)

                    Thanks for the comments!

The collar tabs are machine stitched, yes.

                    Looks like it's from 1971:

There was also this hole left by a badge over the right breast pocket with a diamond-shaped indent in the lining. Does anyone know what might have left this?

My guess would be a Soviet military academy badge . . .
