ok so that's the start of my collection. Now I've got boots, some kampfgruppen stuff, and a few things that are not on the pix.

    I know I'm a beginner.

            Hallo Genossen!

I am putting together a collection.

Here is the start of it. It's put together, though...

The shoulderboards were sold to me as MfS, but I think they're actually Artillerie.

It's supposed to be an Admin Stasi unifrom as worn by Oberstleutant Grubitz in The Lives of Others.

... I read that really good thread where the differences between Wiesler's and Grubitz's uniforms are discussed!

The ribbon bar is "real" as far as I can tell because of it being a little bit shabby. I think the level of decoration is appropriate for a Lieutenant Colonel, but as it's "standard" NVA it's missing the "Verdienter Mitarbeiter des MfS" ribbon.

My reasoning behind the decorations is that it's someone who started off with the Dzierzynski soldiers, hence the military decorations, and then moved on up into the "Admin" part of the MfS. I believe this was a common career path.

                Very nice

Does that visor have a bit of a saddle shape going?

                  Nice one!

From this picture, the shoulderboards do look like MfS ones (dark reddish/maroon)...

Nah, the cap was unissued so hasn't been modified to make it look "jauntier"

                    Thanks Jan.

I don't think the boards are correct, though. Maybe in the light of that photo the look a little darker than they are in reality.

I've hunted down some 'Der Spiess' (Hauptfeldwebel/Hauptfahnrich) tunics!

Please do share your opinions . PS: I know the pants (VM hose), tie (Volksmarine Black) and shirt (white; not right for the service tunics) are not always ok in this setup

                          Stabsoberfahnrich LuSK; Parade (dated 1979).

                          Stabsoberfahnrich LaSK (Artillerie/Rakettentruppe); Stabsdienstuniform.

...fahnrich LV; Service-uniform (textile collar tabs).

...fahnrich LV; Parade-uniform (same set as the above one; metal collar tabs).

Please note; I need two pairs of shoulderboards for these last two! If you have some, please PM
