      Here is a little display I made with some of my odds and ends. It represents 3rd Reich, East and West German insignia.

          please help me i want know about stasi ranks (shoulderboard). I beggining my collection righ now and i interested too at russian military former u.r.s.s. thank (and sorry for my bad english)

                The DDR part of my collection

                1) M56A helmet 1960 dated
                2) NVA schiffchen, wool, 2nd type insigna and flaps sewn (not readable year mark)
                3) Feuerwehrschiffchen, 1st type insigna and flaps not sewn
                4) NVA schiffchen, cotton, 2nd type insigna and flaps sewn (A=1977 marked)
                5) NVA schiffchen, wool, 2nd type insigna and flaps not sewn (1969 marked)
                6) Volkspolizei schiffchen, cotton, 2nd type insigna and flaps sewn (A=1977 marked)
                7) GST schiffchen, 2nd type with flaps sewn
                8) Volkspolizei (Vopos) schiffchen, cotton, 3rd type insigna
                (1990 reunification) and flaps sewn (P=1976 marked)
                9) Transportpolizei (Trapo) schiffchen, cotton, 2nd type insigna and flaps not sewn (Z=1969 marked)

                      Hello Odysseios...thanks for posting your hat display. I find your GST hat interesting. I have never seen that hat with the way the colored lines are on it. Thanks!!!

                        Hi Ralph

                        The GST (Gesellschaft für Sport und Technik = Society for Sport and Tecnology)
                        was a sort of DDR HJ (Honeckerjugend ) wich was taken care of the military preparation of the over 14 boys.

                        there was 2 caps from GST: one with flaps sewn (like that you seen) and the first pattern with flaps not sewn (see picture).
                        Is not a rare cap and it's price is ever low.
