Show us your favorite DDR Collect. Display

    Hi all

I know there is a special Collection Display forum for that but I would like to make this a special DDR Collection Display Thread where you all are welcome to post your favorite DDR Collection Display. We all collecting Things from DDR/NVA and because of the quite fair price for DDR Stuff the Collections are permanently growing.
Okay,I will make the start for a (hopefully) well visited and supported Thread
This is my favorite display...I have some more cupboards and shelfs filled with DDR/NVA Things but this is the one I like looking at the most..

Hope your not still mad at me for dragging you to that militaria show in San Antonio.

Hey can you please tell me what these hats are and can you please post some additional photos?

                Thanks,

Great idea for a thread Thälmannpionier. I hope more members participate.

                  Answer to question:
Those are Tschakos. All are 50s or very early 60s era. One is a West Berlin Tschako. The other two are East Berlin Tschakos. One of them is Unteroffizier with the older Tricolor Police Star; the other is Officer with the later, but much more rare Staatswappen Police Star.
Tomorrow, at first light, I'll take some pics and post them in the morning. Thanks for asking.

Also, as more of my "Collecting Tank" gets completed, I'll post additional photos.
John, thanks for taking me on your excursions in San Antonio - I had no choice but to accept, as it is the only means available by which to prevent you from buying up everything in my own backyard.

                  Nice Tunics John.

thanks for all the comments and pics so far..

                        Hi David
Yes this is the rather rare Volksmarine series from East Germany. On the far right is a early Volksmarine toy soldier from Lineol.
The actual series contains 4 figures, the two from the left(one I've double) and then two captains with different dress, one normal captains uniform and the parade uniform. One I'll get next week with the mail and then I just need one more to have the series complete .. What I've been told about them is that they haven't mass produced this series like the normal NVA soldiers..it was sold near the coast regions like Rostock etc..

Andreas, nice sailors... I have never seen them before...but then, I am not a Fischkopp... do the two in the middle still have their original paint or would you say that they have been re-painted by someone at some point? They look like new paint?? Cheers, Torsten.

hi torsten....yes it's the original paint, the flash light lets it look a bit funny..the kaptain I'll get next week has the same strange light-blue coloured overall dress but with some yellow(golden)details. The one on the left has the breast pocket repainted in black instead of blue.

Here is a pic of one of the captains in the regular captains uniform I'll get next week(with dagger )

and this is the complete series...but the figures in this pic are "new-made" figures from these days as you can see from the darker or(better) colours. nearly bought them but then the Seller told me they are reproductions

It was asked by a couple of Members, that I show closer photos of the Tschakos that are in my collection. I have a total of three.

The first photo depicts both the West Berlin and East Berlin Unteroffizier type Tschakos. Both are 50s era. The East German Tschako has the Tricolor Shield inside the Police Star.
