To get this thread going again, here is a question I thought about this weekend. What East German stamp(s) showed the US flag and words "United States"? I'm looking for a year and general description of the stamp(s).
Kevin - You have me stumped. So I guess it is a visa stamp to cross into Berlin?

Ralph - No, but a good guess. Here it is from my collection -
Apollo Soyuz (Sojus-Apollo) Space Stamp 1975. There are two more stamps in the series, but neither of the others have the US flag or words United States.
Kevin - Well I can say that my answer was not only a swing and a miss, but I was not in the same ball game. I wasn't thinking of postage stamps. I good question...thanks...

Hello everybody,
it´s Christmas time, I hope the goose was tasty and the beer too .
If you have your good cuban cigarr now, and it is a little bit boring now here is a little question:
What was hidden behind this name " mathematical-physical institute of the GDR"?

Hello Dirk,
Actually I'm enjoying a good Honduran and Nicaraguan blend Filler with a U.S. Conneticut Wrapper and 12 year old Congac in a brandy Snifter.
And this year we had a duck instead of the traditional goose.
Merry Second Day of Christmas. I must admit, your question has me absolutely stumped.
Mike,
we had a duck too... ,
but since I ´m no longer a smoker, I have no knowledge in tobaccoes...
Concerning my question: I am sure, especially you, with your former jobs, had contact with the "colleagues" of this institute...
Thanx, for the Christmas wishes. The days were great, and tomorrow the Fitness-gym is waiting for me...
Relying completely on my personal past experience, there are only two destinct fields to which I personally am associated. I think we can effectively rule out any connection to the field of Ballistics and Armor.
So my guess would be that it is something to do with "Forensics" and the MdI. (?)
