    What is this Russian Paperwork?

    Hello

This came with a number of WW2 items from a vet. Is this a ww2 era Russian note paper?
    Thank you

It is a WW2 Soviet fieldpost letter in mint unused condition. Very nice!

Thank you for the help. I never have seen one before, but assumed it was WW2 since it was with a number of medals, pins, and postcards brought back from the war. Do these have much collector interest?

These are quite collectable though are more interesting when these are written. Still I know collectors who also like mint unused examples. Myself I only collect these when used/written and have some 50 different designs now.

One more question. Is this dated 1943?

The picture with date is not clear enough but I think it is 1941.

Here's one of mine from Boris Tan, who describes of being awarded the Order of Glory III class.

Very nice. Thank you for sharing. I have never thought much about this area of collecting, but now it has peaked my interest....

Same here. And the nice thing is, so much can be taken from these letters. With the name complete research can be done if lucky enough to find the name in the database, finding out where the soldier served and what awards he received etc. A very nice yet cheap field of collecting.

Marcel, thanks for the help with this and also for showing your excellent example. If you ever have time to kill a thread about those Soviet field letters would be welcomed.

One thought about OP's paper. I have seen recently produced examples of Soviet wartime papers in a similar condition (un-aged and without hand writing.)
                          Thanks,
                          Eric Gaumann

My pleasure to help Eric. You are right these are reprinted again but the wartime ones you know immediately by feel and smell. Those are quite fragile, even the mint unused ones.

Here's a few more designs from my collection, all from Boris Tan (I have 26 letters in total from Boris):

                              Very nice letters. Amazing information.
Has anyone seen a reproduction of the letter I started this thread with?
                              Thanks
