Hi guys,
Picked up my first Partisan Medals, 1st and 2nd Class. Both have original suspensions with uncut rings and I believe the 1st Class (Silver) has an original ribbon while the 2nd class (Bronze) possibly has a replaced based on the condition of it.
Noticeable different between the two as well, the 1st Class medal is about 10 grams heavier (38 grams versus 26 grams). Is this difference common to find between the two. I suspect the different is in the medals themselves, the 1st Class silver one is a little thicker than the 2nd class. Also the 1st class has a steel suspension (magnetic) whereas the 2nd class has a lightweight aluminum suspension.
Also interesting to know why the ribbons on these Partisan medals fade so easily from green to the more tan color we see often on these?
Thanks for the opinions guys.
Tom
