I have next to no knowledge of Soviet insignia.
Is this a WWII Commisars insignia?
I have been informed it is, but I don't know, the construction and "feel" of the piece is old enough!

Much appreciate any info from you soviet expertski!

Hi Rik, indeed that is what it is. Now these are much reproduced so care has to be taken with these. Most seem to be done in bullion. I do not know if yours is original or not, as I do not own one of these. But it is not the usual fakes I am familiar with.
