    Capture of Koenigsberg Campaign Medal

    Hi guys,

Here is a recent addition to my growing Russian campaign medal collection, Capture of Koenigsberg. Appears to be a Type 1 with separately attached ring. The suspension ring is cut, so possibly not the original suspension but its a relatively early 1-piece brass example dating to 1945-1947 I believe. The ribbon is very clean and most certainly a replacement, but a nice fit to the suspension.

    Thanks

    Tom

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Also a nice 1st pattern medal. Can't see the connecting ring but it looks like an early replacement suspension indeed and the ribbon is for sure a recent replacement.
On the front still some green residu can be seen which veterans used to clean their medals with. So a medal for sure been worn for many occasions and taken well care off by the veteran. So yet another nice addition to an ever growing collection

      Hi Marcel,

Thanks for looking and great insight on the green residue, I can see exactly what you are talking about here and good news for my medal.
