    Original WW2 Soviet flag?

I recently got this flag which is a supposed WW2 bring back. The flag was found with a bunch of authentic captured Nazi items as well as a few immediate post war Japanese flags. The Soviet flag in question has evidence of mounting on the heading (picture 1) and a spot where a manufacturers label was deliberately and carefully removed (picture 8). What really puzzles me is that the material looks and feels almost identical to older nylon, but upon conducting a burn test the fabric did not melt but instead burnt leaving fine dark grey ashes which no hard ball whatsoever. The design is very reminiscent of wartime British made Soviet flags but I cant quite figure out the material. Does anyone have any idea what could be the story behind the flag?
(The actual color of the flag is the deep red you see in half the photos, it only shows up as pink because my camera isn't very good.)

    Hello Neb:
I suspect that the flag you are asking about did not
see service in WW2, based on proportions shown, &
the lack of any display means - no header, pole slip
sleeve, rope or pole mounting loops, see t=858910.

Ok, I suspected as much as the material was strange to me. Thank you for the help!
