    Very nice early medal (awarded first half of 1944). Suspension and ribbon are recent replacements (very common with Soviet awards - veterans done this often to look at their best at parades and reunions).

      Agreed. I always like the sub-one million numbered BMs (and CSMs and ORs.)
      This one is very well worn, and I see no trace of the original enamel. Not a big deal IMO.

      Yes, and sometimes dealers and collectors did this as well.
