In August, 1991, in Arkhangelsk (Russia) the memorable meeting of veterans devoted to the first convoy of a lend-lease has gone. It is the memorable sign for participants of a meeting.
On the sign inscription to "Participant of swimming in convoys".

      Thank you.
But I would rather change the translation to “Convoy runs participant”.

It does translate as "swimming" though!

Its not a wartime or military medal. Commemorative but for participants so more rare and desirable. I don't know about value but I would guess maybe USD $10 to $25? Just my guess . ..

Did you use an automatic translator? Egorka is a human one, and furthermore a russian-langage native... ;-)

swimming : noun, the sport or activity of propelling oneself through water using the limbs.
sailing : noun, the action of sailing in a ship or boat.

In Russian "ПЛА́ВАНИЕ" means both swimming and sailing.
But in English it is more appropriate to use SAILING here, right?

Still think “Convoy runs participant” is the best.

OK, the official English version is "PARTICIPANT OF NORTHERN CONVOYS".
              Still no swimming...

              Google translate:
In the postwar years, veterans of the northern convoys made it a rule to assemble in Arkhangelsk on the day of arrival of the first allied convoy. At one of these meetings, it was decided to establish a badge in memory of sailing in the Allied convoys. The Arkhangelsk artist R. A. Kunnikov, who sailed in these convoys, developed a sketch of the sign, and in 1972 the sign itself appeared. On this sign against the background of the Barents Sea is depicted the plot of the attack of the convoy by enemy aircraft. At the bottom of the sign on the tape dates are stamped - "1941-1945." With the help of a ring, the sign is attached to a block with the inscription “Member of navigation in convoys”. In 1985, they made a repeat circulation of this sign. Subsequently, they made a souvenir badge for a participant in a swim in the Dervish convoy.

In August 1991, a meeting was held in Arkhangelsk to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the arrival in our country of the first allied convoy. The participants of this meeting were presented with commemorative jubilee badges, which were developed by the artist of the first sign "Participant of Northern convoys". The first version of the sign had a suspension with the Russian text, the second - with an inscription in English, and the third, intended for participants of the convoy "Dervish", had a suspension with the image of a handshake. In addition, the participants of the voyage in the convoys and the guests also received souvenir signs issued in memory of the 50th anniversary of the Dervish convoy.
