total fake, including the shell. metal stamp is fake, paint is fake, liner is fake, chinstrap is fake, and oh yeah, star is... you guessed it, fake. i wouldn't touch this unless i was looking for a re-enactment piece.

are you sure it is complete fake? I can return the helmet if not OK, but want to be sure.

there is no need for better pictures, the only thing good about this helmet is the pictures!

take a look at this website, he only sells originals. once you compare the metal stamps you will realize that your whole helmet is a fabrication, nothing is original there.

We can have doubts about the the first type star and the chinstrap (which does not correspond to a 36) but certainly not on the helmet itself.

I have had many Soviet helmets. This one is good. The liner is original wartime. The chinstrap is from a latter ssh40 helmet. Not sure about the star.

Thanks a lot for more details. I am really confused some people say the helmet is OK some say it is fake....

More opinions welcome.

As written I can return the helmet if proven that it is fake. But if it is OK I would like to keep it. Replaced chin strap and not original star would not be so big problem if the rest would be OK.

Please more opinions.

In my opinion, the chinstrap has been replaced as well.
