          Re

I understand that most everyone says that he never sells a fake but any dealer can make mistakes. He is vouched for by everyone I've heard from and I trust him myself but I always want to have other opinions and not just accept the piece on the dealers reputation

I also appreciate your help with these pieces I've posted

          Thanks
          John

This dealer is on the market since more than 20 years. I relies on a powerfull circuit of middlemen and certainly some experts. This man is extremly respectfull of US laws and is carreful about authenticity. In the early years he relied also on Paul Mc Daniels certificates.
Only a pair of extremly scarce pieces have been discussed by experimented russian collectors who master extensively the documentation.

So his reputation is not a fairytale, and it has a consequence on prices.

Build yourself your opinion is an extremly clever aim, but the expert documentation is now elaborated in Russia.

The "red bible" shwon on the weblink is now a starter book with a really clear scientific approach, but nowadays only a starter book to acquire primary automatisms, because it is now totally outdated.

Also don't forget the Mac Daniels book speaks only of orders and medals, and other state, republican ministerial awards are not studied in this pioneering work.

Soviet medals and badges are a huge (some would say a black hole without any end) field of collecting and research.

The up-to-date info is avalaible in russian books and classified (and payment access) sections of russian websites.
