    Russian Visor Cap

    Hi guys,
Not my area of collecting, is this a 1980's Officers cap for Engineers? Are these collectible at all?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

There should be a date (look for two numbers) just inside the star shape of the label. The hats as a I know of, aren’t collectible, the Soviet Union made thousands of these. You could get them anywhere really. Though I can’t say for the rest of the world.

What material is the black band? And could you post a close-up of the makermark inside the hat? There is says the year of production and company where made.

I don't see the year but it looks like late Soviet visor.
Artillery, tank, engineer or signal troops officer.

I agree. An officer peak-cap of technical types of military forces, the period since the end of the 70th years until the end of the USSR.

Could you take a close up of the diamond with the makers label on it. It might help us date it.

Just another thread where opinions are asked but when better pics are needed no reply is coming anymore. Happens quite a lot lately.

On the label it is written "43 ЦЭПК Москва". I don't know how precisely to translate into English, approximately so - 43 central experimental production plant Moscow

If you are interested in the late cold war, then it is for sure a collectible. If you like your collectibles to be of good quality, then this cap is a good choice being 43TsePK. If you want to make (big) money off your collection, save for retirement or whatever, this cap is not your perfect choice. These caps are not rare.

the caps aren't rare, you more often or not going to have to go for complete uniforms of generals and other high ranking officers in the military. When i mean complete i mean pretty much everything has to be there to be very collectible.
