    Soviet submarine clock

    My Soviet submarine clock

    #2
Unfortunately these are not original Sub clocks. the original sub clocks are really quite drab affairs but were extremely accurate. These clocks made by Vostok are for the tourist market. The first ones manufacted after the collpase of the Soviet Union were quite well made but the standard has dropped since then.

How much did you pay for it?

Yes you are right... mine is dated 1995 !
I do not remember the price I paid for it... approx. US$ 80 !
It has been in my kitchen for years now !

Yes, they were not actually on submarines, but I still like them!

what do you think of the 2 links I posted Ciaran? the second one is the most realistic, even if a serial or date number can be stamped (added)...

Mine? Nah, I got it from, I think, Sovietski years ago. I had a friend build the Teak and Mahogany base for it and I added the badges. It sits on my mantle and keeps fairly good time.
                      Thanks,

I don't see any specific Soviet Navy depot stamps on it anywhere. Although I have no clue what would be expected to found on it. It looks like a nice, older, clock but the price is already taking off.
