I did not think it was an original by just the looks of the scabbard. Are these sold for commemoratives or for original pieces? If it is sold for commemoratives, why would they go through the trouble of putting fake patina on it? Are they for sale online some where?

I'm no expert in these, but it looks different than originals. Artificial patina makes it more authentic hence desirable. There are plenty of replicas online. although I didn't find exact that one with quick search.
