I recently aquired a ssh-36 helmet. The problem with that is the condition of the helmet. I'm looking for any info on the type of liner system that went in this helmet. I believe that the war time paint is underneath the Chevrolet engine block orange. I'd like to find an original liner but am open to a reproduction. The restoration is probably ly as close as I'll get to ever owning the particular helmet. The paint and decals look to have been done during the hay day of the slot car racers. I'm thinking 60s & 70s. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
