Order of the Partisan Star - Yugoslavia

I find it's quiet since a week in the Communist Bloc forum, so I decided to share with you one of my favorite Communist Bloc order (if I except the Soviet one of course) The Yugoslavian Order of the Partisan Star.

The Order of the Partisan Star with Rifles, instituted in 1943 was awarded mainly to Partisan Officers for the successful leadership of military formations and for Courage displayed in time of war during the struggle against the Nazi's in WWII.

The order is Silver with Ruby Red enamel and is flawless. This one is from the early issue made in the <st1 ="">Soviet Union </st1>by the MONETNY DVOR. This order is much nicer than the late issues which were made from the Zagreb Mint. The issue of this award ceased in 1973.

Very beautiful badge! It seems like one does not find these as often as in the past. A few years ago, I purchased mine, and every now and then I would encounter another for sale, but now it seems like these have faded from the market.

Hi nice badge.On back side you have inscription for grade in SLOVENIAN language but when Russians make dies for badge they spell wrong the inscription.Instead STOLPNJE it should be STOPNJE.On second and first grade you have Croatian and Serb inscription in Latin and Ciril writing.I hope it helps.

Hi wery nice second class order.But what is realy good is that you have also award document.I have seen abou twenty orders of this typ for sale in past ten years but only two award documents of that type you have and one large one late type.I would like to point out that award docs are much more rare than orders itself and late ones from fifties and through eighties large ones are much rarer than early ones.Also award docs for foreginers are gems each for themself and if you own whole group with all other medals and docs than you have a real geam in your colection.Realy nice.

What does STOPNJE means in english?

It means GRADE. Nice badges and especially document in your collection!

Partisan star is one of my favorite awards too! I also like the fact these were awarded only for real bravery before the enemy, not for whatever rear and political "merit" as many other Yugoslav awards, including National hero.
