Lend-Lease holster maybe?

I purchased this US military style WW2 holster because it was different...
Note it has no "U S" embossing in the flap area of the leather!

Could it be an export holster for a foreign army? Maybe Lend-Lease to Russia?
They did receive 13,000 Colt Government pistols with few being issued as the 45 cal. bullet was not an easy round to obtain in Russia...

As for the lend lease equipment in my collection, I still have Thompson pouches, a pistol belt and two holsters, one WWI the other WWII dated, all have the U.S. markings. I also saw many more holsters there, and they all were marked like regular US holsters. Not sure who the unmarked one was made for, but from my observation the U.S. just shipped them what they had. However, certain items were exclusively produced for the Soviet Union...

Yeah that makes sense...shipped from storage what we had...If it was standard gear...So it might just be a fluke...missed the embossing step...remained blank!

There were more countries that produced items for the military (holsters, ammo pouches) but left out the military approved stamps so these could be used for civil use. The items for military and civil were exactly the same apart from missing stamps and marks. That's why I thought this one could perhaps be for civil use as well.
