I bought a fixer upper piped Mundir for little money because I enjoy bringing these pieces back to life (and it fits my budget better)

I thought it was still worth saving (note holes in tail and back collar fixed) and under $200 with the insignia!
(not counting medals and belt of course)

What is a "Mundir"?

It is Russian (sometimes spelled Mundyr), a "best dress" parade tunic, meaning it is branch color piped
(cuffs + collar for enlisted men and NCO's and for officers cuffs + collar and front closure edge) and have piping details
with buttons in the back as shown.
These were instituted in 1943 but rarely issued/worn but more widely seen after the hostilities ended in Europe.
These fancy dress uniforms were used in great numbers during the Victory parade in Moscow on June 24, 1945.
