    Another Ebay item

Apparently this is a VDV jump helmet:

Can someone tell me if I am correct in saying this is the inside liner from a aircrew helmet - possibly helicopter?

I've never seen a jump helmet with comms!

I cannot answer you question, but this seller often sells fake items at ridiculous prices. Well that's what I think.

Its not a jump helmet, not with that lead sticking out of it. Looks like a helicopter pilot helmet but it should be leather not canvas. Not sure of its origin, eastern bloc maybe but I don't think its Soviet.

hello gents, this is an undercover for pilot helmet. It seems like a very close variation of undercover with microphone designed for the high-altitude GsH-6 helmet...price a bit steep, got one in Germany for 30 euros...

          seller

I have to agree with 'soviet', this seller has a huge amount of high end uniforms that are fake, but are never listed that way.

Yeah, this is definately worth a laugh... I have a nearly identical one that's from my high-altitude flight suit setup. The high altitude helmet has a "cross" in the top of the helmet that the black leather pads from this liner fits into. I really doubt you'll find any other helmet with such a design in it - especially a paratrooper one!

Here's the one I have. First, the entire flight suit:

The other side. Note that mine doesn't have the white plastic mouthpiece, and doesn't have that odd cable coming out of the forehead!

Finally, the inside of the helmet with the "T" cross for the black pad. It's important to also note that just about every country that the Soviets exported arms to either purchased these suits or made them themselves (I once owned a complete Bulgarian made set, which was given to my nephew for a grand birthday present! ) so there will be various versions out there (which the one on the auction appears to be.)

I think I'm beggining to get a little sharper at spotting items now - thanks to the coaching from both my good Comrade Viktor and of course all of you out there!
