Cyrilic alphabet font on my computer ?

Hey, guys, I've got the Windows XP operating system on my computer.

Does anyone know if this will allow me to type in cyrillic ?

For the life of me I cannot seem to obtain this information the "Help" section of the program.

If I don't, does anyone have a site for downloading a program for this ?

I also have XP as well, not sure of any Cyrillic fonts, but I use the Character map, in the New York Times font, about 1/2 way down the list. You click on each letter and it apears in a text box. This can then be highlighted, copied and pasted into Word . I can also paste it into forum threads.

If you want to type Cyrillic using a keyboard (i.e. pressing the "B" key gives you
Б , you have to install a true type font .

Bill simply clik "Tools" on your browser ( Explorer ), then clik the "Search for update" fonction. This will link you to microsoft update website, then once there start the scan to chek for available update, in non-essential update section you will find the program to read and type differant caracter. This is where I have found my japanese caracter program...they must have a cyrilic one!

Bill, Russian is pre-installed on Windows XP (as many other languages). Follow these steps:

1. Go to Start --> Control Panel



2. Click "Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options"



3. Click "Regional and Language Options"



4. In new opened "Regional and Language Options" window select "Languages" tab if it is not selected. Click "Details..." button.



5. In new opened "Text Services and Input Languages" window select "Settings" tab if it is not selected. Click "Add..." button.

6. In new opened "Add Input Language" from drop-down menue select Russian language. Click "OK" button on this and all previous windows.



7. Now, whenever you want to type in Russian, click the little "EN" icon in the taskbar (bottom-right of the Windows window) and select "RU". Now you are "Russian" and ready to go. When done, click the "RU" button and you are "English" again.



P.S. Search Google to find out what letters of the Russian alphabet are associated with English letters on your keyboard.

If you use Outlook make sure that you test it before you send to someone. When I used Russian in Outlook it came out bad. I went into the help menu and it gives directions for installing languages there also, and they are the same as above but it wasn't until I did this that when the text was transmitted that it was readable. Also, Win98 has the same function and is installed basically the same way.

I speak a little bit Russian but I wasn’t really able to translate this small sentence. Does it mean something like: “Our true path (or road)”<o =""></o>

I’m not sure of this translation.<o =""></o>

Thanks to those easy steps I was also able to get the Russian alphabet on my computer. Now to learn Russian is another story.

I was trying to spell my name. The reason I spelled it as I did is because in english my last name is pronounced "Dee-Yenna". But the name is Italian, and there is no "Y" in the Italian alphabet, so there is none in my name.
