Can anyone ID this desantnik badge?

Have been offered this badge, with the following description from the seller:

quite rare officer's parade badge from Afghanistan war period
made from heavy bronze and enamel with screw back. The badge is large: 5
cm x 4.5 cm and 2mm thick.

Obviously it is VDV related but what is it and is it "rare" (I doubt it!)

Saying that it's from the Afghanistan period is kind of like the dealers in US gear that say anything made between 1965 and 1990 is from the "Vietnam period". Maybe this is from the 1980's, but I really doubt it. This looks like one of the multitude of Russian commemorative "kitsch" badges out on the market. Don't waste your money unless you can get it for a couple of dollars at most.

Yeah thought it was probably a lame duck (that screw back looked really dicey and non-official), but you never know, it might have turned out something unusual.

If you want a laugh, the bloke wanted US$30 for it!!!

It is just a generic badge that states "Airborne Forces" - no particular unit or time period. Late 80's, early 90's - probably worn by General Grachev when he was awarded his HSU or by spetsnaz snipers in Groznii, hence the $30 price.

These turn up a lot on DEMBEL uniforms although this one is post-Soviet. Don't touch it if the geezer wants $30. you can pick these up dirt cheap on EBay.
