Does anyone have any experience with items related to the Soviet-backed Lublin Poles? I have a uniform that may belong to one such member. This is going to be a real brain teaser... anyone up for a discussion?
This uniform I picked up as a set for a very inexpensive price. It is very early post-war. The odd part is the ribbons. Now, I can say with certainty that this set is for a Soviet-backed Lubin Polish Army member. They were completely supplied and uniformed by the Soviets. The first two ribbons are: Polish Victory and Freedom Medal, odd variation of the Polish Warsaw Medal (Not Soviet Order of Lenin- way too wide), Soviet Capture of Berlin, and the Soviet Liberation of Warsaw Medal. The ribbon bar is rusted onto the uniform and is dark in color(pin rust and cloth). The ribbons are faded. There are skeptics of this uniform, but with the uniform wear, semi-fragile threads, old rust on the ribbon bar pin, the great resistance in removing the ribbon bar, and the uniform fading of the ribbons, this uniform and all parts have been together for a very long time. Although the uniform itself is immediate post war(no dates on the button reverses),
Regards
