    soviet caps

    Hi

I'm totally new at the subject, but have always been intrigued by these soviet caps the size of satelite-dishes. What is the name of such caps, is it possible to purchase? where can I find more details about them?

    regards

    David

    Hi,
These are ordinary visor caps from 1980s and onwards. If looking at post-Soviet states you will find even more impressive sets. Like this one, which I have and that happens to be for sale. It is Belarus border guards.

I've never seen such a cap in 80-ies.

My cap is of course not from 1980s, it is much more recent.
What I meant was that caps with larger top started to appear in late 1980s.

I think that it could be Mongolian or North Korean? They had exaggerated peaks like that.

The cap itself is Soviet borderguard but insignia looks strange for me.
Actually such an ugly caps are very popular among all level headquarters officers at the end of USSR.

Do you have some Extra Pics?
              Inside, Side view?
So far I don't have a Problem as, especially after the Breakdown of the Soviet Union, many former Republics used the old Stuff just with the new Badges.
Somewhere I hafe a Soviet Forestry Cap with Ukrainian Badge but still the Soviet Buttons and also some Soviet Caps with Kasach Badges.

My cap is from Belarus, from their border guards branch, dated 2012. The insignia is Belarus and the producer is a company in Minsk.
It is NOT a Soviet era cap. It is just an example of extreme "satellite dish" caps that original post was asking about.

That was the reason why I asked for the Inside view.
I know this "brutal" shape from different Countries but have to search my Storage to remember wich ones.

Uzbekistan and their neighbours also share this passion for fashion.
