Help With This Helmet

A friend has asked me to post photos of this helmet for comment.

My specialty is East German and I'm not very familiar with Soviet or other Warsaw Pact stuff. The shell looks Russian but the liner and markings are not familiar.

Any thoughts as to the identity of this helmet?
