Order of the Red Banner of Labor

Another recent pickup. These things are irresistible. Just gorgeous.

I speak of Soviet Orders - especially Labor Orders - in general! Great stuff.

    It's difficult...

...to get the camera to show the beauty of these Orders. The enamel-work is superb. It "flows"...

Quality is nothing short of excellent!

      3-D effect...

...of the enamel-work gives the banner a wavy appearance that I have tried to capture; once again, you really have to hold these pieces to appreciate them.

        Reverse:

Not too shabby. Not too recent.

I agree... This is my most favorite RBL out of the hundreds that I've owned... This one was awarded to Maria Petrovna Ivanova on 24 February 1945 (almost it's 60th birthday!)

Hey Ralph your medal and documentation is just simply AWESOME!!!

Even though my collection interests is in the DDR field...it is always nice to see other threads that show some very nice Soviet medals...thanks for sharing.

                      Ralph,

That's a nice example of a late flatback variation. If you venture into types and variations field you can find a long oval flatbacks that are longer than your piece and later pieces that are shorter with different backs.

This is one of my favorite orders! Welcome to the addiction of Soviet Awards!!!

                      Rusty.
