A few years ago someone on this board or one of the other Soviet collecting boards posted some really interesting pictures of Soviet Afghan wars equipment. The photo grouping had a several interesting and unique items one of which was a Pakol (Afghan hat) that had subdued soviet insignia (star and wealth in olive) and a small VDV badge on the side much like the VDV place on their blue berets. The Pakol was also reversible and had a blaze orange crown liner so that the hat could be turned inside out and used for aerial recognition. The liner had some stamping in Russian. Did anyone save these pictures as I lost my reference of these in a computer crash years ago and I am trying to recreate this VDV (Spetsnaz) Pakol for my reenacting impression.
