should we post pics with the serial no of the awards?

i was thinking that as well know fakers look at this site all the time! now if we post a pic of a award with a serial number on it whats to stop the fakers copying that number and then using ir on a fake award so that if someone does research the award its on the right type of award! its just something iv been thinking of there! but what do you guys think?

In my opinion, you are right. Its probably not a good idea to post anything with a serial number visible given the problem of forgeries and fakes.

Not a bad idea, but at the same time, award numbers by type are generally pretty well known. All that a faker has to do is look at any number of a dozen sites and about two dozen books with clear photos of Soviet awards to figure out what number goes with what type. THe only people that we'd be hurting by covering up the numbers is ourselves.

thats true navy but i think il cut some of the serial number out of the pic though! just to safe
