Ahhhh thats really bugging me - I've seen that buckle before, more than that, its actually the buckle I need to complete some sort of uniform set I have - so I should know!

All I can tell you until my brain fires up this morning (more coffee!) is that on a white belt its probably a parade belt for someone (assuming the belt goes with the buckle)

    More coffee I think

I know that I have a book that shows this buckle. I'll have to check it. I THINK that it is a buckle that was used for a relatively short time by members of the MVD.

I'll check the book and post again.

        Belt

I have a buckle like that and if I remember correctly it is a
Soviet diplomatic buckle. I could be wrong. I will try to look it up also. Mike

          belt

I am 99% sure its a Militia officers belt; Diplomatic Corps did not have special belts. It might have been MVD wide, but i think limited to Militia/Police in the 1950's / 1960's.

I am not sure if it is an officers belt, but definitely, a Militia belt.

              belt

By officer i used the term in the western context; i.e. whatever rank they are caleld police officers. The belt would be for a Militia EM as the officers would have the brown belt with cross strap.

A pretty nice belt circa 1950's.
