Soviet medal for Distinguished Service in the Preservation of Public Order

Last time I showed you my Soviet medal for Distinguished Service in Guarding the USSR State Border and you told me it was fake.

<o =""></o>So I contacted the seller that sold me this medal and told him it was a fake one. He told me to keep my medal and I received this in the mail today.

Can you guys please tell me what you think about that one. or

For me this one looks better. The metal is not fade as the other one. The problem is that I don't really know what to look on that one. It might be a variation 3 or 4, but certainly not a variation 1. But, it might be also a fake one, so I need your advice.

P.S.: beware, the first scan is a bit shinny, while the ribbon is very bright. The real color is more like on the second scan.

I don't like it. The metal tone and "wear" does not look like an original. There is too much chewed up damage around the suspension ring and along the edges. This appears to be similar to the first (if yours is the one I'm thinking about) and looks like a cast copy. The medal color also seems flat or dull for a real one. The clipped ring is not encouraging and neither is the brass, as opposed to usual aluminum suspension.

Bryan, thanks for the detailed pics. I fully agree with what has already been said. .
Just look at the two stars, especially the one on the front...

        Bryan, sorry for this!!!
        Cheers.

I concur - with the closeups, it's definately bad. Sorry about that!

On your blowups, the hammer and sickle look, pardon the pun, sickly, and from the 12 o'clock ray of the star you can see a casting "crack" running from the ray of the star straight up to the rim of the medal.

Well at least that's good that I didn't pay for that one. Thanks all for your comments.

Do you mind telling everyone the name of this "dealer" or can you PM it to me? He shouldn't be offering this stuff and I'd recommend you steer clear in the future.
