Russian PPSh sling - original wartime?

    Hello gentlemen,

For many years now I have a Russian PPSh sling of which I always thought it would be a postwar model. Recently I've seen a reliable dealer posting several slings (which look identical to mine) and he rated these as original wartime slings.
In a Russian book about WW2 period militaria I also came across the same sling (which could be a postwar one used to show together with the gun of course however that would perhaps be too much of a coincidence?).
But because of coming across several now (both a few at dealer and in book) I started to doubt my own judgement of labeling these as postwar. Therefor I wanna show my sling and see what you guys have to say since on this one I don't trust my own judgement anymore

As can be seen the sling is in unused mint condition and is stamped. Can't make out what this stamp means though.

Thanks for any possible leads and help!!
    Cheers,
    Marcel

No one is familiar enough with these slings to tell differences between wartime and postwar?

I believe it to be post war, the webbing is too good for war time PPSH/PPS slings I was told by a Reconstructor of the Great Patriotic war in Mother Russia.

        Thanks Viktor.

It's not the webbing I worry about since on real wartime slings it's the same webbing as this one has. Wartime slings I've seen had leather laces instead of a buckle to re-size length of the sling, hence my confusion.

Your sling is post war. The canvas weave is looser than wartime slings. The leather on wartime ppsh type slings is much softer and leather like. The sling pictured has a hard almost pleather look to it. Many of that type can be found cheap on flea bay.

The cowhide lace type you speak of is a universal sling used on various Russian weapons. These would include 91/30's, svt's ,pps43.
