    Unknown Artillery Plaque

    Got asked if I know this Item. Sadly not.
    Maybe somebody knows this.
    For sure Arty related, maybe for some Anniversary or so.
    It's about 14cm wide.

      No exact idea, but you can see arrangements like that on posters, award documents, citations, so I wonder if that was part of some display, maybe to top some picture, memorial plaque or something like that in an office, barracs etc.

        Some photographs I've seen of the offices of various Soviet generals and marshals show huge "artistic" displays (i.e. the world's largest inkwells) occupying the centers of their desks.

        Zhukov's desk certainly had one. From one such inkwell on steroids given to Lenin which I saw at Gorki several years ago, it seems that large desk displays were quite popular in the USSR.

        I could easily see your plaque fastened to an oversized desk organizer on the desk of a Soviet marshal of artillery.
