    Question about 1942 dated Shashka

I bought this 1942 dated Shashka from a sword/antiques collector, but wanted to get an experts opinion as I am unfamiliar with these. Comes with an extra bayonet. It looks good from the research I've done. Has a matching rack number on the scabbard drag and hilt.

        Why do you say that?

I also don't like the stamp ЗИК . The wood grips I don't like. However, this can be from photos. Best Sergey.

Hi, it looks OK to me, I have one very similar, also a ZIK 1942 wartime economy model without the pommel decoration and with the steel rather than brass tip to the scabbard. Your sword (and mine) is not like the various examples of repros that I have seen.
            Regards Andrew.

ЗИК stamp looks good from other originals I have looked at, same with the grip.

This is a good website on the variations that I used for reference. It's in Russian, but can be viewed through google translate.
