      Nice, Eric!!

I particularly like the Railway badge, which I assume goes with the document?

Amazing acquizitions! Although not an expert, I assume this railway badge is much rarer than more sought-after war awards.

And 300 years of union of Ukraina and Russia is a bit hillarius nowadays. Actually, not funny, but sad.

I'm not an expert on these 'Stalin's Call' awards. There were a LOT of them awarded over the years and are pretty common. But, there are many variations and they are of a neat design so that makes them more collectible IMO. Having a dated document helps as well. This award, from 1936 appeals to me because of the purges and collectivization, famine and genocide, and industrialization that occurred right around that time. It was not a good time for most Russian people but it marked a major point in the pre-war history of the USSR

Yes, it is sad. I'm still not quite sure what is going on there but I'm quite confident a lot of common people are getting screwed-over, badly.
The more the things change, the more they stay they same.

Thanks for explanation Eric. I've seen many of these shock worker's badges, but few with matching documents. And agree completely about Ukraine situation. Ordinary people suffer most, and big guys get big profits, as usual. I'm following news from Ukraine on our (Slovenian) meda, which have basically the same view as western/american, but also on Russian and Serbian. For a different point of view. But it's probably beyond the scope (and against the rules) of this forum to argue who's right.

I think it's a good rule, in general, not to talk politics or religion with anyone who is not a very close friend. You're a smart man for not starting that conversation.

Thanks Eric, I appreciate your comments!

To return a bit to the main topic, I see the Working excellence medal is numbered, hence pre-43 piece. Very nice one indeed, and much scarcer than post-ww2 type. Is it real silver one? Do you know how many of these were awarded numbered?

It's early and I've had only limited coffee but if I'm reading Shishkov correctly there were roughly 18,000 numbered awards on the triangular suspension and around 70,000 on the pentagonal koladka.
                    Thanks,
