Are these Soviet MVD patches for real?

    Greetings Comrades,

I've been collecting these MVD branch patches when I see them. My question is, are they for real or are they post-Cold War fantasies created using Soviet era machinery?

If they are legit, does anyone happen to have period photos or regulations confirming their existence? I'm fairly confident that the KGB badges have a fighting chance of being Soviet era artifacts.

    Many thanks,

    TJ

Most of them are fakes. Even the ones that look OK I would still stay away from. The colors are just wrong. There are sooooo many fake Soviet army patches around it is not worth the effort to weed them out anymore. It is just a mess.
So called KGB patch or rather GB patch(Top row left) is supposed to be in deep blue color. Here it looks like an Air force patch color.
There are no other (K)GB patches in this bunch.

I think that's because they majority is made for the tourist branche. All tourists in Moscow or St. Peterburg buy such patches as well as visors, gasmasks with bags etc etc. Many tourist shops are flooded with this stuff.

        True.
If I wanted to buy a patch from the above selection I would choose the most common one - infantry patch(middle row second on the left). This is the only patch that doesn't look dodgy.
