Soviet Russian officer presentation dagger 1945 model

I picked up this in the collection which came from a vet with some German daggers.
I never saw one before , but quality is higher then normally what I see with their daggers. I think it is 1945 model, but not 100% sure what it was used for.
    Thank you
    Regards Rajko

Technically, I suppose it is a Soviet Marshall's dirk and I believe Brezhnev had the only one that looked like this (I think his has a little extra decoration on the grip). His is now in the Central Museum of the Armed Forces in Moscow. God only knows what it is that you've discovered!

                Regards

BTW: You can find photos of Brezhnev's dagger in Soviet Dirks by E. Boldyrev et al.

Sorry, but since I'm not a card carrying member of the forum at present, I do not have permission to post any pictures here. Even if I did, however, my scanner is kaput.

I cannot believe that I'm the only person who owns a copy of the book (which I bought from a prominent dealer in Northern NJ). Hopefully, a legitimate forum member who's licensed to reproduce (hmmm. that didn't sound right somehow) can step forward with copies of the photos; the pages in question are 161 and 162.

                    Good luck.

                    Regards

What I cannot believe that there is nobody else commenting about it. Did anybody ever saw one like this? I cannot find anything about these daggers on the net.

I haven't seen anything like this, but the 15 republics crest would indicate post-1956 era.

I saw somewhat similar daggers but not with such a round handle. The ones I saw all had a squarish plastic grip. Also, the Kremlin clock tower, I don't like the look of it. It looks a bit too simple even compare to a regular officer' dagger. I think this is an individually made dagger.
                          I could be wrong.

It says 'Special Order Dagger', that's what you have too, in my opinion.
In the link, the town name is misspelled. It is Zlatoust, not Zloust. More than likely that's where your dagger came from.
