    Type 1 Alenander Nevsky

This suffered a hard life. it appears to have been converted from the medal with bar to a screwback. The top left axe shaft is broken from its base and the whole medal comes apart when the disc is removed. The rivets were obviously undone when the conversion was made.

Is there a way to trace #4424 of this order?

This shows how the axe is broken when the badge disassembles from not having the rivets re-secured.

It is possible to find out who the recipient was, but to be honest, I don't like the looks of the medal. Either it was very beat, or just crudely cast...with a really bad enamel job to boot. I personally wouldn't touch it unless it had a letter of authenticity from one of the major dealers. Otherwise, in my opinion and for my wallet, I would pass on it.

This medal has surely suffered a hard life and shows lots of wear. It is definitely die struck. The enamel has taken a beating with small chips and scratches. The center disk is a separate piece as should be correct for this type. It is clearly visible that the loop, for suspension, has been removed.

Sorry, but I believe this Nevsky is fake.
