Recently acquired these unusual y-straps and would like opinions. Thought from a few poor photos, that they could be early DDR and price was low.
From stamps, they appear to be Czech (Czech maker and Czech crossed swords). Many types seem to exist, but I can find no such black y-straps used by Czechoslovakia. Black dye appear period applied - has wear and storage marks on it. Textured leather, rings and front hooks are German style and not like usual Czech. Buckles on supporting straps and back ring are blued, painted olive.
So, Czech police, borderguard, rare army variation (possibly from German parts) or some export product to other East Block?
Not sure, why dye on middle of underside.
Czechoslovak Peoples Army property stamp and 52 (for 1952, or?).
Maker stamp. Hard to read, only can read "KOZAK Kožedělné Závody", which is/was apparently a leather factory. Can not read other parts.
Regards
Klaus
